Obituaries

 

Paul V. Basso, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at RI Hospital.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Carrier) Basso and his late brothers and sisters: Hugo, Phyllis Nash, Jessie Fratus, Louise Madancy, Frank, Oreste, Agnes Gould, Marie Badessa, Herbert Basso and sole surviving sister, Evelyn Mainelli.

In his young life, Paul was a Marine (Private) in the United States Marching Band.

Paul was a 10-year employee for the State of Rhode Island. Being brought up with a musical family and father who was a professor of music, Paul had music in his blood. Any time of day or night, upon visiting with him there would always be music playing... and not just any music. It was that of Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Sarah Vaughn and so many alike.

Visiting hours will be at the Stapleton Funeral Home, 684 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910, Thursday, February 15th, 10:00-11:15am.
