Luis J. Duran 12/3/61 — 03/15/24 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Luis J Duran. Luis passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62 on Friday March 15, 2024. Luis was born December 3, 1961, in San Francisco De Macorís, D.R. He was the son of the late Julian Duran and Maria S Duran. He arrived in Providence in 1996 where he settled and raised his family. Luis was an avid dancer with the ability to light up the room with his special ways and moves. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend. A humble man with a giant heart who was always willing and able to help others. Luis will be deeply missed by his family and many friends whose lives he touched. Calling hours will be held on Friday March 22, 2024, at Stapleton Funeral Home, 684 Park Ave. Cranston, RI from 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday March 23, 2024, at Church of Ascencion, 390 Pontiac Ave. Cranston, RI at 12:30pm with a burial immediately following in Oakland Cemetery 1569 Broad St. Cranston, RI.
