Obituaries

 

Degnan, Lawrence A. Jr., 76 of North Providence passed peacefully Sunday (4-19-2026) at home. Born in Providence, a son of the late Lawrence Degnan, Sr. and S. Margaret (Fitzgerald) Degnan, he had lived in North Providence for many years. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Reicher) Degnan.

Larry had several careers starting with Electric Boat and ending as a detention officer for the Providence Police. He was a navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.

Larry leaves a son Robert M. Degnan (Shauna) of North Providence and a daughter Karen L. Degnan (Ronald) of Cranston and three grandsons; Tyler, Matthew and Aidan Degnan.

His life will be celebrated with calling hours Friday 4:00pm to 6:00pm with a service to follow at 6:00pm in the Butterfield Funeral Home, 500 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston with Military Honors presented at the conclusion. His arrangements are entrusted with the Stapleton Barry Holdredge Funeral Home.
